New Trafic E-Tech, Converted By Renault scheme and R4 Van to debut at Solutrans 2025

Renault will unveil the production version of the new Trafic E-Tech and its new Converted By Renault off-the-shelf programme alongside the R4 E-Tech Van at next week’s Solutrans 2025 event.

The first model in the brand’s new generation of all-electric vans, the fully electric Trafic E-Tech will be showcased at Solutrans from 18-22 November in its “definitive” form, before taking to the road in late 2026.

Developed on a skateboard platform, it’s described as remarkably compact and agile for driving in the city. At the same time, load capacity is maximised by the rear-mounted engine and short overhang.

WLTP range will be up to 450km (280 miles) with an NMC long-range battery or almost 350km (217 miles) for the LFP standard battery with no rare metals.

The Trafic E-Tech will also be built using 800V technology for fast charging, enabling a 15-80% recharge in around 20 minutes. The electric motor delivers 204hp (150kW) and 345Nm.

The SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) architecture developed by Renault’s Ampere EV division means Trafic E-Tech electric is “hyper-connected, scalable” and able to receive automatic updates. It will also feature vehicle to load (V2L) and vehicle to grid (V2G) capabilities, with advanced digital integration for business users.

Built in France at the brand’s Sandouville plant, it will additionally deliver a “disruptive cockpit design, generous storage space and reinforced safety features”.

At Solutrans 2025, Renault will also showcase its ‘Converted By Renault’ inhouse programme, which consolidates its expertise in made-to-measure solutions for customers.

The Converted By Renault label covers the conversions most frequently requested by business customers. The objective is to cut delivery times and costs, while maintaining guarantees on quality and compliance.

On average, over half of all Renault LCVs are converted. The brand is a major player in a number of segments including ambulances, public works, mobile workshops, animal transport, shops on wheels, tipper trucks, refrigerated vehicles, breakdown vehicles, high-capacity trucks and vehicles suitable for passengers of reduced mobility.

Renault has upgraded its industrial process to be able to carry out the most frequently requested conversions by the customers. This means that conversion requirements – special equipment, interior fittings, adaptation for specific activities, etc – are carried out directly in the factory and in the Qstomize workshops, which take over at the end of the line.

Zakaria Zeghari, VP sales & marketing at Renault LCVs, said the Converted By Renault scheme will offer vehicles perfectly suited to professionals’ specific needs, with manufacturer-guaranteed quality.

“Through this industrial approach, we are able to meet the expectations of our business customers for shorter delivery times, lower costs and reliability. We have successfully rolled out the Converted By Renault offer for Renault Master, and we will be doing the same for new Renault Trafic Van E-Tech electric.”

The ready-made solutions under the Converted By Renault programme cover most of the needs expressed by business customers. For tailor-made projects, the brand uses a network of 300 approved bodybuilders, selected in compliance with stringent quality and management standards. The accreditation, valid for three years and followed by an annual assessment, enables approved bodybuilders to offer vehicles that have been converted, validated and approved by the manufacturer, with a high level of quality.

Approved bodybuilders also play an active role in the brand’s products by participating actively in the upstream development phases to ensure that Renault commercial vehicles are always designed to be converted.

At Solutrans 2025, the Renault 4 E-Tech electric Van announced in September will also make its public debut in two exclusive liveries.

Designed to meet the needs of business users looking for versatility and modular design, these versions offer a range of up to 409km (254 miles) WLTP, a payload of 345kg and optimised load capacity. The Reversible Fleet version lets users switch easily from an LCV to a five-seater configuration, while the Fleet Van version offers “an exceptional load area”.

Finally, the Mobilize brand, dedicated to new forms of mobility, will also be present, revealing latest solutions for professionals, road transport and urban transport. The Duo and Duo Pro urban electric quadricycles will be on display.

Solutrans 2025 takes place at the Eurexpo Lyon, France from 18-22 November. The Renault press conference will be held on Tuesday 18 November from 10.00am on the Renault stand.
