Bynx and NSW StateFleet, the largest government fleet in Australia, are working together to create a suite of ‘green initiatives’ to assist in meeting the Australian state standard for cleaner emissions and greenhouse targets.

The government has created an ‘Environmental Performance Score’ determined by looking at a vehicle’s greenhouse rating (C02 emissions), and air pollution rating (N0x emissions). These Australian vehicle emission standards largely reflect international standards developed by the United Nations.

The BynxFleet system takes in all the emission data and displays a combined score as an overall star rating for the vehicle’s ‘clean green credentials’. The Star Rating Green score for the vehicle’s clean credentials assists the fleet managers in determining whether a vehicle is within a certain green target. Whether through policy or incentives, higher rated green vehicles mean a continual driving down of the overall emission output for the government fleets.
