Licence Check updates DAVIS Fleet to boost manager control and…

Licence Check has rolled out a series of updates to its DAVIS Fleet platform, aimed at giving fleet managers greater visibility, enhanced compliance, and improved control over vehicle operations.

The latest release introduces a new pool vehicle booking and inspection feature that allows drivers to check vehicles in and out directly through the DAVIS Driver App. The system includes a vehicle inspection process to ensure condition monitoring for each allocation, supporting safer operations and more accurate reporting.

Licence Check said the new feature is designed to improve P11D reporting accuracy, reduce unplanned damage costs, and increase driver accountability through greater transparency.

A separate update enables instant defect and damage reporting, allowing drivers to log issues at any time through the app rather than waiting for scheduled checks. The information is made immediately visible to managers within DAVIS Fleet, allowing prompt action to maintain safety and compliance.

DAVIS Fleet forms part of Licence Check’s broader Driver and Vehicle Information Solutions (DAVIS) platform, which integrates licence checking, driver risk management and vehicle oversight tools. The company said the new functions add to the system’s analytical capabilities and provide managers with more actionable data.

Alongside the fleet updates, the DAVIS Driver App – launched last autumn – has been refreshed with a more personalised interface. New mini dashboards now give drivers an at-a-glance view of features relevant to their role, such as coaching or fleet functions, presented in a simplified layout to reduce complexity.

The app’s ‘Tasks’ section, highlighting the most urgent actions required from drivers, remains a central feature. Licence Check said the design has been kept deliberately straightforward to ensure ease of use.

Integration between the Driver App and DAVIS Fleet allows managers to view key operational metrics such as mileage thresholds, missing mileage entries, and reported defects in real time.

Keith Allen, managing director at Licence Check, said the updates are part of the company’s ongoing effort to evolve DAVIS Fleet from a licence checking tool into a comprehensive fleet management system.

“These latest updates within DAVIS Fleet and the Driver App are designed to further enhance the ease of use of the platform, giving fleet managers greater visibility and control and drivers enhanced functionality,” Allen said.

He added that further developments are planned: “We have a stream of new features in the pipeline for DAVIS Fleet, which we will continue to roll out in a timely and considered manner, always with the aim of enhancing the experience for our growing number of users.”
