Global car rental company Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. has announced the appointment of Piero Bussani as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, effective October 27th.
In his new role, Bussani will oversee global legal affairs, government affairs, and sustainability and social impact for the company.

I’m confident he’ll be a strong partner to our leadership team as we execute on our strategic priorities.”
Bussani joins Hertz with more than three decades of legal and business leadership experience across the real estate, hospitality, consumer, and technology sectors, including 18 years with Blackstone-backed portfolio companies. Most recently, he served as Chief Legal Officer at Homebound, a technology-enabled home building platform. His prior roles include senior legal and executive positions at Invitation Homes, Revantage (Blackstone’s global real estate services platform), Blockbuster, Extended Stay Hotels, and LXR Luxury Resorts. He began his career at Arent Fox, a Washington, D.C.-based law firm.

Throughout his career, Bussani has led and overseen litigation, regulatory and compliance, contracts, risk and insurance, capital markets, and corporate transactions. In addition to his corporate roles, he serves as Chairman of Florida Atlantic University, and as a Trustee of CubeSmart and Cleveland Clinic Weston.
Bussani earned his Juris Doctor from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from American University.
